And into the Web We Go…

We grasp for a sense of the familiar in these strange times,.  Many of the world’s accepted ways and norms were smashed to bits in the last three months of last year, and only now are the pieces being gathered up.  People’s lives are disjointed, and even the most fortunate perceive a very uncertain future.

In light of this climate, it’s heartening to see that in the world motor racing, the show has carried on, albeit on a slightly different “engine map” than recent years.  The soul of the sport remains intact, in other words, but the body is a little wounded.

It is  not really appropriate to blithely launch our team web site’s first blog —and my first ever “blog”—without at least  recognizing how lucky we are as a team to be racing this year, let alone racing what is, in my opinion, the most beautiful car to grace American shores in a generation.

We seek to make this column an interesting and insider’s look at the sport.

One thing we will assure any regular visitors to this site is that this column will never be a politically correct dissertation of the cliché-laden and predictable “understeer, oversteer, for me, for sure, what could have been…” blather that plagues far too many personal and team web sites.

On the contrary, as regular followers of our team will know, we like to keep the big picture in mind and we really don’t find value in shying away from speaking directly.  At the same time, we are respectful of those whose involvement (and investment) in this sport make our lives possible.  So this will not be a glossed-over PR exercise, but neither will it be a slashing and nasty attack machine disguised under the cloak of “journalism.”

At Dyson Racing, we are honored to be a part of the show and we are grateful for all of the fans who have supported us over the years.  We hope you enjoy hearing from us as we update our “Flat in Fifth” Personal Perspectives section.
