BOWMANVILLE, ONTARIO, AUG. 15 -- Over the past seven years, the Thetford / Norcold Dyson Racing team has enjoyed a stellar track record at Mosport International Raceway, collecting three overall victories while finishing on the podium five times. Looking to add to this success, for this weekend's American Le Mans Series' mail2web.com Grand Prix of Mosport, Dyson drivers James Weaver and Butch Leitzinger will be piloting the team's brand-new MG-Lola EX257 prototype.
The team gave the AER MG-powered car a shakedown run on Tuesday, completing nearly 60 trouble-free laps around the 2.459 mile road course. Weaver and Leitzinger were both on hand, and Weaver was enthused with the car's progress.
"The car has huge potential," the English star pronounced. "We're working to get a good setup for the weekend and trying to get used to the car. Goodyear's ready to do a great job and the Lola boys have been helping us along. We were able to log some data and the car was responsive to changes, so it was a good test."
Mosport remains a Dyson team favorite, and the drivers relish the track's challenging and sweeping corners. "It's a classic high speed circuit, definitely one of my favorites," said Weaver, a two-time winner here.
The Dyson team is now working hard to prepare the car for tomorrow's practice and Qualifying sessions. Everyone is looking forward to the weekend.
Sunday's two-hour, forty-five minute race will be televised on NBC from 2 PM- 4 PM.
